The wide distribution of astrological journals, text, papers, and textbooks of astrology throughout the United States took place through the efforts of astrologers like Alan Leo, Sepharial or Walter Gorn Old, Paul Cheisnard and Charles Carter.

The serious and complex writings were simplified and gave the impression of settled and agreed positions on many points that were not resolved. Between 1920 and 1940 the popular media also entered the area of astrology due to the great public interest.

The astrological forecasts and the interest grew ever more intense with the advent of America's entry into the First World War and the war heightened interest in astrology. Many articles were written based on character descriptions and astrological forecasts based on the month and the day of the birth as taken from the position of the Sun when the person is born. This resulted in the practice of modern Sun-Sign astrology of 20th century.
