Pariharam or Remedies in Astrology
According to the Vedic astrology, our life is based on past Karma.
It believed that the past Karma cannot be changed, but the present Karma can be controlled through certain remedies. These remedies help in overcoming the complicated situations. They help in working with the strengths and the weaknesses.
The Vedic astrological remedies through which the present karmas can be modified include the Mantra, the Tantra and the Yantra.
The other remedial measures include the Aushadhi or the medicine, the Snan or bath with water containing medicinal planets, the Daan or the Donations and seeking blessing, and the Gems or the precious stones.
The remedies do not bring about success directly but they help overcome the obstacles and difficult situations. Also the remedies do not substitute the efforts that are mandatory to achieve the goals.
Mantra
The Mantra is referred to the repeated chanting of auspicious lines or words. The sound produced is said to activate a different center in the human body which correlates to a particular planet.
The basis of mind in its objective and structural aspect is the power inherent in different combinations of sounds. There are different types Vedic mantras and sthotras for the upasana of the Kshudra or the Krura and the Soumya or the Shantha devatas.
The vedic mantras should be practiced under the guidance of a teacher or the Guru for attaining perfection in Swaras.
There should not be apaswaras in repeating the mantras.
“Mantre Thaddhevathayam cha thatha mantra Pradhe gurau,
Thrishu bhakti sadha karya saahi prathama sadhanam”
According to the above Sanskrit verse, while reciting a mantra, a person should have complete to devotion to the mantra which is of primary importance, next to the God or the Goddess to which this mantra is oriented and then to the Guru or the Teacher who has imparted the mantra. Then only mantra is supposed to yield good results.
The importance of Mantra is clear in the following verse.
”Mantraadheenam Jagatsarv daivadheenam thu manthritham
Thanmanthram brahmanadheenam brahmano mama dhevatha”
According to the above verse, the whole world is under the control of mantras and the mantras are under the control of God which in turn are in the control of brahmins.
Tantra
The Tantra is the ultimate thing when the situation becomes adverse and no solution is found even by Mantra. It works like a surgery clearing the most of the hurdles.
Yantra
The Yantra is a mystical diagram, representing the gods and deities. It is an effective remedy used when the process of remedy has to be followed for a longer period and when it is not possible to practice other remedies.
Some of the popular Yantras are Shri yantra, Shri Ganesh yantra, Maha Mrutyunjay yantra, Bagla Mukhi yantra, Vyapar Vriddhi yantra, and Mahalakshmi yantra.
