In spite of its popularity and usage, the astrology has many drawbacks. Some of them are given below.

As per the Sanskrit verse which says that only the Creator knows what is going to happen and others can only guess it, the astrology cannot fix anyone’s future. It is probabilistic in nature.

Even an expert astrologer cannot predict with 100% success rate. There are instances where a stalwart like Prof. B.V. Raman who is considered as the modern day Varahamihira also had failures which he himself has acknowledged.
 

Astrology is not a regulated field. It has many contradictions. It requires a lot of skills to be an astrologer. Exploring the dimensions of astrological predictions requires accuracy and scientific temper.

There are only few serious astrologers. Anyone with a pocket book on astrology claims to be an astrologer. Such fake astrologers are springing up in large numbers, playing with the credulity of the masses.
 

Even though the astrology is a great discipline, there is an impenetrable prejudice characterizing the majority of the educated people who consider astrology as mere superstition.

The modern scientists also reject any investigation of the astrological claims.
 
The gross misuse of the sacred Vedic astrology has led to the present degradation of astrology. Not only the fake astrologers, but also many narrow minded scientists are responsible for this degradation.

Unless much time is devoted to the study and investigation, no one is entitled to hold their opinion on discipline like astrology.
